New from West Elm

I spotted this great updated Windsor chair in the new West Elm catalog. They also offer a chaise lounge and dining chair in the same style. Sweet!

Love It!

I've been looking at dining room furniture for ages. Wood just wasn't doing it for me. Anything modern enough to suit me was WAY too expensive. I got the new Chiasso catalog in the mail today, and there it was. A sweet little set called Astor. I've always liked the (seemingly identical) Orbit chair from CB2, but there was no table. Thanks, Chiasso!

Ikea, Where Are You???

I wish Ikea would pull their head out and learn how to ship freight. They're losing a fortune in business just from me alone. This lovely little Vika desk set is shown in their catalog, and is very reasonably priced, but is only available at Ikea stores. They won't even ship the lamp. BOO! Their furniture items aren't any bigger than items shipped by Target or Amazon. Even with shipping costs, their furniture would still be a great bargain.

Come on! Inspire me!

It's too bad Crate & Barrel doesn't currently have any room groups in their catalog as inspiring as this right now. It's one of their best efforts in recent years. The City Mink armless sectional, Abaca ottoman, Optic Sea Glass lamps and Mix side tables are all still available. The throw pillows are not.

For the Modern Lollygagger

I LOVE this outdoor furniture from Loll Designs! Their no-maintenance furniture is made of recycled materials. (Go Club chair and side table pictured.) Available in lots of cool colors and numerous very nice designs.

Furniture or Artwork?

I spotted this fabulous credenza by Thomas Wold at Design Public.  It also comes in neutral colors, and a matching bookcase is also available.

Bradshaw Tables

New furniture is looking more retro all the time.  This Swedish Modern style Bradshaw cocktail table is from Room and Board.  Comes in three different finishes, and an end table is also available.

Swedish Modern Lives!

This is a blast from the past!  Swedish Modern is new again.  These pieces are from the Lowry collection at Room and Board.  There's a bed, several sizes of chests and a nightstand.  Available in two finishes.

Everything's Coming Up Orange

Orange is still going strong for Fall.  You can buy orange cars, orange shoes, orange phones, you can even have an orange bank account.  (That might be taking it just a bit too far.)  You name it, it's available in orange.  This room group is from Pottery Barn.  The Farmhouse canopy bed, Pickstitch orange quilt, Jillian patchwork quilt, and Norrel bench are all available there.

Alpha Coffee Table from Crate & Barrel

This is a great new coffee table from Crate & Barrel.  Inspired by antique printers blocks.  Made of a single piece of carved wood, painted in "vintage" colors, with a black steel powder coated frame, and protected by a tempered glass top.  Truly a work of art!

New Catalog Finds!

I've found some cool stuff in the new fall catalogs.  This great Morocco dinnerware is from CB2.  My search for a swivel chair without rollers has finally ended.  Chiasso is offering this great Ada chair made of cat-proof laquered wood.  I think I could find a spot for their Geo bookends and Spring planter as well!  This uber-cool (and way out of my price range) Rex wall sculpture is in their new section.
